Hewat Athletic Club is based in Athlone, Cape Town. The club originates from the Hewat Teachers Training College, now known as Athlone College, and has served the running community since 1995.

Hewat Athletics Club is more than a running club. Members support local community initiatives, including school events, awareness campaigns, and outreach programmes that promote health, confidence, and connection.

Home of the Cape Town Festival of Running.
The Cape Town Festival of Running is hosted annually in July at Sea Point Promenade, bringing together runners for a community-focused race experience with scenic coastal routes and multiple distance options.
